Edit by Shakey:
This is the place to discuss the Pokémon in the game and post your sprites and ideas.
If someone would kindly put all the sprites so far that are generally accepted into one sheet, please message me and I'll stick it in this post and update it when it's done!

| Post your self made sprites in here with an option to write a small description. Opinions welcome on work, keep it constructive, no needless flaming. I assume it's okay for me to have made this thread? Here was my only sprite so far, since I'm fairly new to this spriting business. It's a replacement for Geodude which implies over time it evolved to have arms and eyes. | |

| I brought up in the thread that there could be a cousin of Aerodactyl, the Aerobat, in caves taking the place of what normally would be Zubats. Though not a lot of logic to go on I admit, I'm a fan of the idea and thought it would be worth posting here for thoughts. | |

| Here are some of them we've come up with so far. The Pidgeot is an example of the recolors we could do to some Pokemon to make them more exotic. The Aerodactyl pre-evo is so that it could be seen and caught earlier in the adventure. Evolves into Aerodactyl 25-30ish? Magikarp was supposed to be more powerful in the past, so Magikarp & Gyarados' roles are reversed. An ancient Krabby. An ancient Mr. Mime (Mr. Mage?) An ancient Raticate. Tentacool variation with 4 tentacles Doduo pre-evo, based on Dodo. Duduno. A volcanic Torterra. Perhaps an ancestor to both Torterra/Torkoal. | |

| Yeah you know, cause of Archetype being like the original model for something, thought Archetypal (or an alternative spelling) would work for the original version of the turtle pokemon. | |

| Looks great so far, Archelon. I like the name Archetypal, but it is a real word. | |

| Yeah, Archetypal is a word. Could just spell it differently.
Arkhatypal, Archeturtal, Archatipal.
Up to you. | |

| Dropping off my ancient paras-thing. As for the name of the turtle, I don't have any good suggestions except if you can't come up with something to work with the Arche- thing, maybe look for some synonyms? | |

| archeturtal then
also, what was said about its evolution in the thread?
i proposed giving it a branched evolution, both more suited for life on land. one thats part grass and eventually becomes turtwig and one thats part fire and becomes torkoal

| Or, we could make one grass and one fire Archturtal, and make them appear in different regions to suggest the start of evolution to their respective descendants. | |

Keep the same name but one is fire, one is grass, one is water etc.

Hmm... I'm not sure if the larger mushrooms suggest that this is an ancient form of the creature. Perhaps a common ancestor between Paras and Nincada would work? - Aerodactyl wrote:

That makes pretty good sense.

| I was thinking for the charmander/charmeleon/charizard line we could make them look kind of like godzilla, with the back spikes and whatnot. Heres a speed sprite of godzilla charmander, yes/no? | |
